Polyether polyol, referred to as polyether for short, is an organic polymer formed by the addition polymerization of initiators (such as glycerol, propylene glycol) with ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO), butylene oxide (BO), etc., under the action of a catalyst. As one of the main raw materials for polyether-type polyurethanes, polyether polyols can be further subdivided into polytetrahydrofuran polyols, polyethylene oxide polyols, polypropylene oxide polyols, polymer polyols, and so on. Classified by product properties, polyethers can be divided into flexible foam polyethers and rigid foam polyethers. Among them, flexible foam polyethers are further categorized into general flexible foam polyethers, CASE polyethers, POP polyethers, and high-resilience polyethers. They are widely used in fields such as furniture, shoe soles, medical care, automobiles, construction, thermal insulation, and packaging.

APPLICATION
The main application field of polyether polyol is polyurethane polymer materials, which are mainly used in the production of polyurethane flexible foam, polyurethane rigid foam, as well as coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomer (CASE) products, etc.
Among them, Flexible PU Foam,accounts for over 60% of global polyether consumption and is used in furniture, mattresses, and automotive seats.
Rigid PU Foam, is mainly involved in fields such as building insulation and cold chain logistics (refrigerators, cold storage warehouses). The CASE sector includes Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers, such as shoe soles, tires, and plastic running tracks.
Specialty materials,include flame-retardant foams, medical polyurethanes, and aqueous polyurethane dispersions (PUD).
In addition, polyether polyol is also used in the production of foam stabilizers, defoamers for the papermaking industry, crude oil demulsifiers, high-efficiency low-foam detergents, lubricants, quenching agents, latex foaming agents, rubber lubricants, and surfactants, with a relatively wide range of application fields.
